James Whitcomb

Executive positions with both U.S. and Asian financial institutions

Fluent in English and Japanese, working knowledge of Mandarin

Mr. Whitcomb has spent over two decades doing business with Asian companies. He's lived in Japan over ten years. He's travelled extensively throughout Asia and has also traveled in Europe. He is in the midst of starting a business venture with the objective of acting as a bridge traversing the cultural, legal and linguistic expanse between Chinese and U.S. companies wishing to capitalize on mutually beneficial business opportunities based on their respective competitive advantages.  For more information please see www.jwinternationalllc.com


PREREQUISITES:
1)  Come having read the Citizenship in the World Merit Badge book .  For this class we will use the most recently revised  requirements (January, 2006).  If you don't have them they can be found at:  http://www.usscouts.org/mb/mb004.html


2)  Come prepared to answer requirements 1. and 2.  


3)  Do requirement 3. and 4.b. and 4.c. (don't be concerned with 4.a. although we'll discuss in class).


4)  Understand requirment 5. in its entirety.


5)  Take a crack at 6.a.  


6)  Requirement 7.   Come prepared to show me evidence either written or verbal that you completed two of the five options (a. - e.). 


7)  Come with a smile, lots of scout spirit and enthusiasm.  Be prepared to learn from each other and Actively Participate in this class.  In addition to preparing per above, sign-off on your blue card will be dependent upon your class conduct and your Participation.  We want to hear from you.  No question or idea is a bad one.   We'll have fun too!
